"There’s no reason to stand on the other side of progress, on the other side of human rights, and on the other side of people’s happiness. It is a beautiful thing when gay couples can finally marry each other in certain states- but the fact that it’s not nation wide- or world wide, is insane. We’re always trying to move towards rights- which is why slavery and segregation ended, why women can vote, and why lots of other oppression was fought against and banished. People fought progress at every chance, but others a/defended it at every chance too… I have hope in the human capacity to grow and let go of hate and anger. It always amazes me how many people feel threatened when someone else gets personal rights. It is so obvious that the more people are empowered and have a chance at happiness and love, the chance to build their own marriages and families- the better for everyone… I’m so glad we are getting to see this issue finally getting corrected during our time, but there is still so much work to do… Our bodies and our minds are free, and we have to protect them… There is too much bullying, judging, and oppressing… Good luck to us all loving and understanding each other!"
